Goldsboro, NC—Wayne County Development Alliance is excited to announce the latest addition to ParkEast Industrial Park: Ivey Drive. This new service road is a significant infrastructure enhancement that will support ParkEast Industrial Park’s continued growth and improve accessibility for tenants and visitors alike.
“This new road provides better access to our Industrial Park and positions us to attract more industries to ParkEast. It stands as a testament to the hard work and vision of our County, and we’re excited to see how it will help us grow and thrive in the years to come.”
— Barbara Aycock, Chairperson, Wayne County Board of Commissioners
Ivey Drive will connect Gateway Drive to McLain Street, creating a seamless transit route for business traffic and providing an essential secondary exit during emergencies. Harry Ivey Drive will also intersect this roadway at its midpoint, further enhancing connectivity within the park.
“The new Ivey Road will significantly improve access and traffic flow for the businesses and industries within the park. The additional exit enhances logistics, reduces congestion, and makes it easier for companies to operate efficiently. This road is vital to our ongoing efforts to position the Industrial Park for future growth and attract more investment and industry. It reflects our commitment to creating a thriving, business-friendly environment that fosters innovation, job creation, and long-term economic success.”
— Chip Crumpler, County Manager, Wayne County
This infrastructure project has garnered strong support from the Wayne County Development Alliance and multiple local and state entities, including the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Golden Leaf, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Wayne County, Duke Energy, and the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region. These organizations’ collaborative efforts have led to establishing a safer and more efficient access road within ParkEast Industrial Park and an avenue for sustained economic development in Wayne County.
“After much anticipation, we are here to inaugurate a project that began in 2019 with the expansion of Atlantic Casualty. Ivey Road has been essential for the company’s growth, especially after a fire incident at Park East hindered many employees from exiting the area. The completion of Ivey Road marks a significant advancement in Wayne County’s economic development. Adding another exit to the Industrial Park facilitates smoother business operations and attracts new investments. This road will enhance logistics and strengthen our position as a vital contributor to the region’s economic progress. It’s an exciting development for our entire community and county.”
— Mark Pope, President of North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region
The improved road network will ease traffic flow and increase accessibility for existing and future tenants, further positioning ParkEast Industrial Park as a hub for economic activity in the City of Goldsboro, Wayne County, and the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region.
