Yesterday, the WCDA team held a Wayne County Manufacturers Association meeting. We heard from the new County Manager, Chip Crumpler, on recent activity within the County and how the County continues to support economic development efforts, including WCDA’s partnership with the NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region.
Next, Kristie J. Sauls, Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning Coordinator, spoke on Wayne Community College Apprenticeship programs and how they can benefit employers, students, and even current employees.
We also heard from the WCDA President, Mark Pope, who highlighted some of WCDA’s recent economic activity, new industries coming to the County, and current industry expansions. Also, Mark noted WCDA’s continued partnership with the NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region and the great strides made there.
In closing, Julie Graham was introduced as WCDA’s new Wayne County Existing Industry Director.
